From the Cincinnati Enquirer, August 2010: "I feel like he had more plans for me than I had for him," says Ross, who was assigned by the county to Thunder-Sky in 1999. His goal was to help this man, thought to be mildly autistic, take better care of himself and become more "normal." But when Thunder-Sky unpacked his sketches of demolition sites and fun ideas for what should be built instead, "it was a life-changing moment for me," Ross says. Thunder-Sky left more than 2,000 drawings when he died of cancer in 2004 at age 54. In 2009, Ross and Keith Banner, another social worker, opened the nonprofit Thunder-Sky Inc. gallery in Northside to archive that work and showcase other "unconventional" artists. After nearly a year in the space, the co-founders are discovering more and more that a lot of people love Raymond. They sell limited-edition prints of 15 of his drawings for $50 each, but they don't intend to sell his original artwork unless they get an offer from a patron who would keep it as part of a collection."
