Hi, My name is Charles Rooney, co-owner and creator of Tiodo Bike Co. I'm starting a company that deals with BMX bikes, clothing and other types of merchandise, and also creating a BMX team of pro riders.
My company has goals such as creating quality parts that every BMX-er would want on their bikes. Eventually, I want to provide every part that you would need to create an extremely sturdy bike that can withstand many falls and crashes until you nail that perfect trick. I know that it's really upsetting when you go to do a 540o and your back end twists or your favorite pair of forks bend. As a BMX rider myself, I've experienced many occurances such as these and it's always frustrating. Many of us start at the bottom, when were pre-teens or teenagers and we don't have the funds to go through parts like that, which can tempt some into criminal acts to get the things they need. I, Myself, have been in that place where you don't really see a way to get the things you need unless you take them for yourself. I started out stealing and selling marijuana. Those actions led to my incarceration of 5 years. During those five years that I was given to think about my actions, I created this idea that took my love for BMX and could use it for good and helping others. I would help fellow riders and try to get younger kids into the sport, in hopes of preventing the youth from taking the same paths I did.
Tiodo Bike Co. is a company that is all about focusing on the future and what steps need to be taken to succeed in life. Tiodo stands for "Today is only day one", this means that we need to focus on the big picture, not just today and tomorrow. Next week, next month, next year, all contain things that we never would have thought would happen and we could never forsee the choices and oppurtunities that we would be given. Life is all about choices and mistakes, that is why I want to give everyone a second chance at a better life. I want Tiodo to not only be that company that sells great parts and has the cool shirts. I want Tiodo to be the company that takes in anyone that needs a job, even if it's only for a day, or one paycheck, I still want to help those in need. Once I have the funds that I need to get all the trademarks and begin creating parts and getting new merchandise, then I will be able to take people on as staff and parts of the Tiodo team.
