Muay Thai/ Lao is an ancient, unarmed martial art from Laos. It is similar to Muay Thai in Thailand, Pradal Serey in Cambodia, Tomoi in Malaysia. Muay Lao is referred to as the "Art of Eight Limbs" or the "Science Of Eight Limbs" because it makes use of punches, kicks, elbows and knee strikes, thus using eight "points of contact", as opposed to "two points" (fists) in boxing and "four points" (hands and feet) used in sport-oriented martial arts.

Submission Wrestling (also called Grappling or submission fighting, and technically referred to as submission grappling) is a wrestling style and a general term describing the aspect of martial arts and combat sports (NO-GI) that focus on clinch and ground fighting with the aim of obtaining a submission using submission holds. The sport of submission wrestling brings together techniques from Wrestling, Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, Folk American Wrestling and Judo.

Jiu-jitsu is a collective name for Japanese martial art styles consisting of grappling and striking techniques, pins, joint locks, and throws. These techniques were developed around the principle of using an attacker's energy against him, rather than directly opposing it, and came to be known as jiu-jitsu. The jiu-jitsu taught at TK Academy consists of a combination of traditional Jiu-jitsu, Judo, Aikido and Brazilian Jiu-jitsu with a more modern, practical application on the street or in a sport setting.

Judo is most known for its competitive element, where the object is to throw one's opponent to the ground, immobilize or otherwise subdue one's opponent with a grappling maneuver, or force an opponent to submit by joint locking or by applying a choke.
