Tollhouse Faceoff

DIRECTIONS: From Fresno, take highway 168 towards Shaver Lake. Go through Prather and up the 4 lane section of highway. At the top of the 4 lane section, turn right, onto Tollhouse Road and drive 2.2 miles downhill. A large dirt parking area is on the right. Hikers can head up a heavily eroded fire road to the top of the mountain. Follow the fire road along the ridge for a half mile. Look for signs and a trail leading left out to the top of the climbing area.

Four wheel drive vehicles can drive in on the dirt road to a gate. A bypass road leads steeply uphill to the electric tower and from there to the top of the hill. This road is very steep and heavily eroded.
