The Tomales Community park was built in 1982 by a dedicated group of community volunteers. It included several swing sets, a climbing structure, wooden slide, and a central park gazebo. This hand built equipment served the local kids, young and old, for many years. When the new district was formed it seemed logical to include the park in the district's organization. After a state mandated inspection of the park it was determined that the play structures had to be replaced. Grants were written and accepted and the renewal process began.
