Toms River Adventures and Canoe Rental

A small canoe livery designed to enchant your spirit as you paddle some of the areas best river sections. Trips can range from a short paddle on open waters to a full weekend of great paddling the length of the Toms River and all it has to offer.


Our Story :

We are two local Ocean County residents that have tried to enjoy all the outdoor beauty that this amazing area has to offer. Marc and Cecil bought their very first canoe together more than 25 yrs ago. It was the best $450 two friends ever spent together. We still have the 17 footer we bought from the nice old guy that used to own Pinelands Canoe that shut down way too long ago. The mighty Toms River over run with growth after he retired is very overlooked as an enjoyable trip by many. Until recently most of the section north of Rout 70 was simply impassable. With the efforts of some local enthusiasts the river has been made very enjoyable so others may benefit from the spectacular views and peaceful waters that will eventually lead you straight in to Downtown Toms River. You will get to experience parts of the river not seen by many in years. Wildlife is quite plentiful for those who love nature and bird watching. The Toms River is stocked with trout by the state and most of the north section is not accessible by vehicles. Please take note to all NJ State Wildlife Regulations.
Both in our 40’s we have decided to start our own small Canoe Livery business, Toms River Adventures. We want to keep the number of travelers down so we suggest you book in advance to make sure you get a spot on one of our amazing trips. By keeping the number of visitors down you are guaranteed a more peaceful trip than some of the other canoe liveries that run 200 boats a day.
We also offer a guide service for those looking for some experience going down the river. One of our guides can either paddle along with you or simply tag along with in earshot in a service boat to help with any obstacles along the way. Your guide will know all the best spots to stop and grab a snack, swim, or maybe a good fishing hole.
