Touched by Love Int'l is a humanitarian aid org. whose mission is to care for orphans, widows and the forgotten poor of the world. Currently, our project in Kabondo Kenya includes building family-style homes for 50+ orphans, as well as digging a deep well for clean water; safe sanitation, garden space, and a place to begin their schooling. Each home offers space for 1-2 responsible, loving adults to live with the children, providing a safe, loving, and culturally relevant place for the children to grow, play and learn. Included in the above are plans for an on-site multi-purpose community center a that will serve as a communal kitchen for the women of the children's village, a school for the children,and a place of worship for the entire community, as well as a possible income generator when utilized as a rental for special occasions. Included will also be a small infirmary to provide basic first aid and care for children who are sick and contagious prior to transport to a hospital.
Our goal is to improve the quality of life for these children through improved hygiene, nutrition, education and a loving, nurturing environment that embraces their own culture rather than a western standard.Through vocational training for older children and women, as well as encouraging growing microbusinesses, and through their hard work and prayers, it is our hope that the people of Kabondo will begin to break the cycle of poverty that has held them captive for generations.
Working together with our dear friends and partnering organizations in Kenya, under the leadership and supervision of pastor Julius Nyambuoro, the children's spiritual, physical, and emotional needs will be lovingly cared for as they grow into adulthood and become participants in a future filled with hope that they in turn can share with their own.
