Tour de La Porte

The path patients with cancer and their families must travel is a difficult one. Some of the burden's they face include financial ones. With the assistance of the Foundation's Cancer Fund, these patients do not have to tell their loved ones that they are giving up because they can no longer afford medication or treatment.

A woman in our community had been out of work; her husband deceased and her insurance recently expired. She had come to the point where she could no longer afford to put gas in her car to drive herself to her chemotherapy appointments. The Cancer Fund made it possible for her to receive gas cards, ensuring she could continue with her much needed therapy.
