In 1985, Dr. Eric Wenke built the first Town & Country Animal Hospital at the Country Walk Shopping Plaza. Then in 1990 Dr. Michael Mordaunt joined him to head the Hospital’s Medical and Surgical services. In the wake of Hurricane Andrew, which destroyed the Country Walk Shopping Plaza, the doctors decided to turn this tragedy into an opportunity. They set about building a much larger, state-of-the-art facility capable of providing a greater level of care than was possible at their former location.

Their efforts did not go unnoticed as Town & Country Animal Hospital was named Hospital of the Year by Veterinary Economics Magazine in 1997. Since then, we have only improved on the care we provide our pets and the services offered to our clients. The basis of our promise to you and the foundation of good health throughout the lifetime of your pet is our wide-range of preventative care services. These include regular Wellness Exams, appropriate vaccinations, Dental care, Behavioral and Nutritional counseling, Micro-chipping, Soft tissue and Orthopedic surgical procedures, Ultrasounds, Laser Therapy and more.

However, preventative care does not begin and end at our facility. When you come in for an appointment you will receive important home health advice as well as new information and recommendations for the care of your particular type and breed of pet.

We also understand that accidents and illness will happen even to the healthiest of pets. This is where Town & Country Animal Hospital really excels. The skill and expertise of our doctors is enhanced by advanced diagnostic imaging equipment, in-house medical testing capabilities, our modern surgical suite, and wide range of internal medicine expertise and resources. Your pet will be in good hands.
Additionally, our training and expertise allows us to handle even the most complex medical and surgical cases thereby minimizing the need for referrals to expensive specialists. This allows clients to receive care for their pets from people they have come to regard as friends at a familiar, comfortable and convenient location.
