Trahan's Wings & Daiquiris - Louetta

When my grandmother could no longer walk, I watched her teach her children how to make her Louisiana dishes. She would say “put in a teaspoon of this and a tablespoon of that.” Sooner or late she would say “bring me that pot.” And she would take a pinch of something, look at it closely and put it in the pot.
This was my grandma’s love and it taught me something.
You can’t measure love, you have to feel it. It took years for my mom to learn to make my grandmother’s dishes. This also taught me something. You can’t copy love, you have to grow it. Louisiana cooking is just one of the ways that my grandma shared her love with the world and everyone was welcome as long as they behaved!
