Trans Pride Initiative

Trans Pride Initiative is a Texas nonprofit corporation (our 501(c)(3) application is being prepared) that provides services to the trans community.

Who do we refer to when we say "trans" or "trans*"? The word is used in a very inclusive sense, referring to all persons who identify with a gender that does not strictly or exclusively match their sex assigned at birth as either "male" or "female." The word is intended to include those who identify as, or may be perceived as, transgender, transsexual, and those that identify or express themselves in any other gender nonconforming manner. The phrase "gender minorities" is seeing some use as an encompassing description, and it fits our target demographic.
