More about Transgender Hall of Fame

Based out of the Tampa Bay area of Florida, the International Transgender Historical Society is a non-profit organization that was founded in 2007 by Nationally Syndicated Transgender & Transsexual Issues Columnist, Tamera Elizabeth Reed. Reed's main purpose in founding the I.T.H.S. was so there would be an entity that would forever document the global history of Transgender, transsexual, and cross-dressing men and women.

Later in 2007, the International Transgender Historical Society merged with the International Transgender Hall of Fame, allowing the Hall of Fame to operate under the direction of the I.T.H.S. Board of Directors.

The goal of both the International Transgender Historical Society and the Transgender Hall of Fame is to honor the many transgender, transsexual, and cross-dressing men and women from around the globe who have made major accomplishments and contributions.

In 2010, The I.T.H.S. started the Bay Area Transgender Society, an activities & support group for transgender, transsexual & cross-dressing men and women who live in the Tampa Bay area of Florida.

In 2011, the International transgender Historical Society launched their official website which also includes the I.T.H.S. Hall of Fame.
