Triumphant Apostolic Church

Triumphant Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ (TACJC) was established over seven years ago. We convened in a living room, then, a dance studio, then, 168 Cannon Street, and now, 70 S. Hamilton Street, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. God is great!

Our mission is to promote and enhance a spiritual and moral presence in the community, positively impacting lives through the ministry of the Word, while catering to the natural and spiritual needs of those in the community. Through this medium, souls will be born into the Kingdom of God and experience growth and maturity fulfilling our purpose for this life and in preparation for the second coming of Jesus Christ. We were established over seven years ago. We convened in a living room, then, a dance studio, and now to our current location 168 Cannon Street, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. It’s another year’s journey…..hitherto hath the Lord helped us….1 Sam. 7:12

Over these 7+ years we have seen the hand of the Lord working in this ministry; people have been baptized, filled with the Holy Ghost, backsliders have returned to Christ, people have been enlightened to the Word of God, spiritual growth and positive influences have been observed in the church and in our community. We have had joys and sorrows along the way, but God has been our sustainer and our power.

Through the help of the Almighty God the TACJC family currently has nine active departments: Men’s Department, Women’s Department, Youth Department, Sunday School Department, Media & Technical Departments, Music Department, Adult & Kids Choir, Kitchen & Fundraising Department & Outreach Department. Several appointments have been made to the offices of Deacons and Evangelists. We have heard testimonies and have seen evidences that God is working miracles among us. Countless lives have been transformed! God brought into this City for such a time as this, to win souls for His Kingdom.

God has blessed with a Pastor after His own heart, an Assistant Pastor with a humble spirit and beautiful saints, who are laborers in the vineyard, with the mind of Christ! Our Pastor continues to preach and teach the word of God, in season and out of season. He leads God’s flock as he obtains directions from the Lord. He has also performed a number of weddings and baby dedications.

We believe God has chosen us to do this great work in the city of Poughkeepsie and He will perform what He has begun in our lives. We are moving forward, soaring to new heights in God, showing forth the praises of God who has called into His marvelous light. We declare that Jesus saves to the utmost, and none that trust in Him shall be desolate!


Our Beliefs:

1. The Word of God, as contained in the Bible, is
a) Absolute in its authority, St. Matthew 5:18
b) Divinely inspired and profitable, 2 Timothy 3:16 & 17; 2 Peter 1:20 & 21
c) Complete in its revelation, St. John 1:1; Revelations 22:18

2. Jesus Christ
a) He embodies the Godhead, Colossians 2:9
b) He is God in the flesh, Acts 7:59, 1 Timothy 3:16
c) He is the Saviour of the World, St. John 1:29, Titus 2:13 & 14
d) He is the only way, St. John 10:9; 14:6; Act 4:12

3. The Gospel Plan of Salvation
a) Repentance from sin, St. Luke 24:47, Acts 3:19
b) Faith in God, Ephesians 2:8 & 9; Hebrews 11:6
c) Water baptism in the name of Jesus, St. John 3:5; Acts 2:38; 8:16; 10:48
d) Baptism in the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking with tongues, Acts 2:4
e) Living a life of true holiness, Titus 2:12; 1 Peter 1:15 & 16

4. The Church of God
a) Purchased by the blood of Jesus, Acts 20:28
b) The Bride of Christ, Ephesians 5:25 - 27
c) Precious and Holy, 1 Corinthians 3:17

5. The Great Commission of the Church
a) The whole word for the whole world, St. Matthew 28:18 - 20; Acts 1:8
b) Make disciples of all believers, St. John 8:31
c) Establish the Kingdom of Heaven, St. Matthew 6:10

6. The institution of the Church of Jesus Christ
a) We fellowship, Hebrews 10:25
b) Financial support through Tithes & Offerings, St. Luke 6:38; 2 Corinthians 9:6 & 7
c) Worship, St. John 4:24; Colossians 3:16

7. Rapture of the Church and the Second Coming of Jesus Christ
a) The dead in Christ shall rise first, 1 Thessalonians 4:15 & 16
b) Saint will be caught up in the air, 1 Thessalonians 4:17 & 18
c) We will receive new bodies, 1 Corinthians 15:42 - 44
d) Jesus will be coming back, Acts 1:11, Jude 14 & 15

8. Lord's Supper and washing of the saints' feet
a) Lord Supper was instituted by the Jesus Himself, St. Luke 22:8 - 20
b) Jesus set the example of washing saints' feet, St. John 13:3 -14
c) The Apostle Paul enjoined the church to follow in the practice, 1 Corinthians 11: 20 - 33

9. The sanctity and institution of marriage
a) Joining of one man & one woman in holy matrimony, Genesis 2:18, 21 - 24
b) Blessed of the Lord, Genesis 1:28, Proverbs 18:22; St. John 2:2
c) Marriage is until the death of one partner, St. Matthew 19:6; Romans 7:3
d) Sexual relations is only allowed in a marriage, Hebrews 13:4
