Raised in Middle Tennessee, Troy has been around horses his entire life, and has had a life-long passion to learn as much about horses as he can. From rodeo to in and out of the show horse industry where he trained and hauled youth and amateur exhibitors on the national Quarter Horse circuit, to ranching in both Tennessee and the Big Horn Basin of Wyoming, horses have been an integral part of Troy’s life, and constant companions.
While not a student of any particular horseman, Troy has been influenced by and privileged to ride with many of the greats, but believes that the greatest teacher is the horse itself, and that listening to and learning from the horse is a lifetime journey.
At the present time Troy trains horses for himself and the public, with particular interest in helping riders understand and become partners with their horses. In his own words;
“ My goal is helping horses overcome problems and riders overcome their fears and become leaders, in order to build communication and improved performance. My journey continues every day and if I have helped any one with any aspect of their journey, then I am fulfilled."
