True Friends Can

By combining strengths, methods and assets, the five True Friends camps comprise Minnesota’s largest and most comprehensive special needs camp provider. The organization serves nearly 4,000 individuals and their families annually. Recognizing that camp programs provide strong rehabilitative, social and therapeutic outcomes.

Campers with mild to severe conditions and disabilities benefit from more than 100 camp sessions offered through True Friends. Programs are offered throughout the year and include summer and winter camps, day camps, wilderness trips, therapeutic horse riding and diagnosis-specific sessions. New ADHD/ADD sessions, Saturday-only camps and family camps are among the new additions for 2014.

In addition to camp, True Friends offers respite and travel programs. Respite services are provided 39 weekends a year. This program offers 1:1 care for children and adults with disabilities, allowing families a reprieve from 24/7 care giving. The camp environment provides an active yet comfortable setting for participants. Ventures Travel provides trip planning and group tours for individuals needing assistance.
