True Gospel Missionary Baptist Church has a rich and bountiful history dating back to 1963. The church’s first Pastor, the late Reverend Frank Nash, Jr., held a meeting on May 16, 1963 with Herbert and Pearl Hereford and Allen and Eddie Mae Twymon to discuss the organization of a Baptist Church, its functions, and doctrines. After the meeting, they searched for an appropriate place to worship and in June 1963, True Gospel Missionary Baptist Church held its first service at 3733 Scovill Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44104. Under the faithful leadership of Pastor Nash, True Gospel Missionary Baptist Church began work on its own house of worship, and in 1981, construction was completed at its present location, 3303 East 93rd Street, Cleveland, Ohio 44104. In 1991, the sanctuary was completely remodeled and in May 1995, the church mortgage was retired. In 2011, Reverend Quintin L. Vawters accepted his calling to shepherd the flock of True Gospel Missionary Baptist Church as Pastor.
