In 2002, with the assistance of Cornell Cooperative Extension of Tompkins County, a farmers' market was formed in the Village of Trumansburg. The goal of the market was to provide local growers a place to introduce themselves to the community and provide fresh, healthy, local produce.
Due to the growth and success of the Farmers' Market in the five years since its inception, and in recognition of its ever-increasing value to the community, the Village Board of Trustees passed a resolution in June 2007 to formalize the Village’s relationship with the Market - agreeing to act as the Market's official sponsor for the indefinite future.
