More about Tsukuro

South Florida foodies have seen a renaissance along Fort Lauderdale’s mile-long stretch of A1A, evident in the recent wave of restaurant openings over the past few years. In February 2014, Asian-inspired eatery, Tsukuro, joined the mix; further defining Fort Lauderdale Beach as a destination which has more to offer than just sun and sand.

A melding of four words, Tsukuro translates to the phrase “where the moon arrives over the water;” a playful nod to the oceanfront setting and synergized rhythm of the menu, design and service style, which will surly appeal to South Florida locals and visitors from around the globe.

Featuring seasonal ocean treasures from the raw bar and a variety of fresh sushi, sashimi and rolls ($5-$14), the menu is complemented by small and large plates for sharing, ranging from traditional favorites like Korean-Style Ribs ($8) to Chinese-style Roasted Duck (half $28/whole $49) to playful takes on classics with Slow-Braised Oxtail Spring Rolls ($9) to Thai-style Whole Fish (MP), to deliver a myriad of tastes. A thoughtful selection of wine, sake, tea, beer and signature cocktails brings harmonious balance to the umami (savory) culinary offerings.

With a firm belief that the first taste is with the eyes, the stunning, 200+ seat, 8,000-square foot eatery delivers beautifully; drawing one in with its impressive two-story glass-ensconced structure and contrasting black and gray palette with bursts of vibrant orange and teal. A central statement to the restaurant’s contemporary design is the raw bar display and communal sushi counter, encircled by a color-changing LED lighting structure, where diners can watch the action up close and personal from expertly trained sushi chefs. An assortment of seating options, each elevated in a subtle stacked position, allows nearly every seat a vantage point of the activity along Fort Lauderdale Beach’s bustling boulevard, whether dining at a sidewalk table, on the raised patio, inside the multi-level bar or main dining room. The glass-enclosed private dining room for up to 12 guests is quietly tucked behind.
“Tsukuro embodies the evolving direction of Fort Lauderdale, and particularly Fort Lauderdale Beach within the South Florida dining scene; cosmopolitan and chic, yet relaxed and inviting, with the added bonus of a beautiful ocean view,” stated owner A.J. Yaari.
