More about Tucker Memorial Baptist Church, WV

Our Lord and Savior gave us two commandments, these two are found in the Book of Matthew 22:37-39 “Jesus said to him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it, You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” And logically if we do follow those commandments, which are found only in Grace, than 1 John 5:2, tells us what that actually means, by following the Lord’s commandments, “By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.” His Agape (unconditional love) for us is something we can never truly comprehend, yet what we can do, is die daily, (1 Cor. 15:31) carry our cross, (Luke 14:27) allow Jesus to control our actions, (Philippians 4:13) as well as our thoughts, (1 Cor. 2:16) and grow in the knowledge of Christ Himself, refer to 2 Peter 3:18, “But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.” The Biblical teachings we offer at Tucker are based upon the idea that God gives wisdom (Sophia) and by doing this we see knowledge as well as understanding (Proverbs 2:6), and thus, if we take the time to study and dive into the scriptures, historically, contextually, as well as spiritually, God can reveal some magnificent things to us for our daily grace walk with Christ as children of God. However, not just looking at the bible for the sake of gaining knowledge, but applying it to our daily lives, focusing on the exchange live that we now have as seen in Galatians 2:20 “I have been crucified with Christ, and I live; yet no longer I, but Christ lives in me. And that life I now live in the flesh, I live by faith toward the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself on my behalf.”, and looking at the universe and science, not with fear of unanswered questions, but with great joy, and knowledge that we have a glorious Creator, “In the beginning there was the Word” John 1:1.
