Turnagain Social Club

Turnagain Social Club caters to individuals 55 years and older, or adults with disabilities. We have in-depth training in specialized Alzheimer's care and are equipped to deal with most any physical or mental condition our members may have.
We provide cognitive stimulation, physical activities, nursing oversight, snacks, meals for those that stay more than 4 hours, entertainment, medication administration, incontinence care and other hygienic maintenance.
We operate in two, 4-hour increments, Monday thru Friday, 8:00am till 5:00pm and extra hours are available for an additional charge.
Located in the beautiful and fully renovated historic church at 3201 Turnagain Street, Anchorage, AK 99515, we are nestled in a peaceful and tight-knit neighborhood near the Rustic Goat restaurant. Our facility provides space, freedom and a caring, friendly atmosphere for our members.
The Baby Boomer population is aging and experiencing a dramatic increase of Alzheimer's as a leading diagnosis. Turnagain Social Club caters to these individuals 3 days a week with specialized medical and therapeutic care regimen.
We provide respite for caregivers, the ability for people to stay in their homes longer, reduce isolation and depression, provide constant RN oversight and foster a sense of community and friendship that many have lost as they age.
Medication is administered by Registered Nurses and members are assisted and encouraged to partake in games, puzzles, pet therapy, food, exercise, music therapy, light therapy, coloring, movies, painting, board games, pool, roulette, card games and many physical activities for mild strengthening and endurance, when able.
Here, we focus on what our members have, and not what they no longer have.
Our state-of-the-art renovation provides our members a beautiful, light filled great-room, vaulted ceiling game and activities rooms, convenient restrooms and changing areas and many delightful surprises such as a grand piano, 110" interactable television, and a large virtual fishtank, to name a few. The 7200 sq ft building was originally built in the early 1950's and serves as a landmark to early Anchorage pioneers.
Members enjoy gourmet meals prepared in an industrial kitchen, fully remodeled, to nourish their bodies along with their hearts and minds.
The guiding principle at TSC is that this is merely the NEXT phase in life, not the final, and that there is so much joy and love still waiting to be experienced.
Our highly qualified and well-trained staff attend to our members needs with grace, courtesy and kindness. All are over 18 years old, CPR/First Aid certified, have undergone extensive background checks, and are trained on site regarding person centered care, Alzheimer's and Dementia care, disease processes and prevention, and selected for their desire to commit their lives to the service of others.
Through many interactive activities, such as pet therapy, group games, entertainment and social time, Turnagain Social Club is an atmosphere where bonds are made and longevity increased.
We provide several layers of safety/security, electronic charting and billing,
Medicaid Choice Waiver Certification for those over 55 as well as private pay, have NADSA membership, and are currently working hard to establish membership in other relevant civic organizations both locally and nationally.
