Turtleback Ridge

Turtleback Ridge Wares is a family farm business in Robertson Co. Kentucky run by Susan, Kevin, and Keegan McGee. We love food; especially high quality local food. Our goal is to produce such foods in a manner that not only allows us to enjoy them, but also encourages other people in our area to enjoy these foods. We believe that a local food economy is vitally important to our community's health and well-being.

We have been long-time gardeners, growing a wide variety of vegetables, plus raspberries, strawberries, gooseberries, apples, pears and cherries. In 2013 we were certified as Home-based Microprocessors in Kentucky, allowing us to sell our jams, chutneys and other processed food from our farm or through Farmer’s Markets. For larger batches, we have been able to use the commercial kitchen at Sunflower Sundries (hats off to Jennifer Gleason!), which provides more options for sales venues. In addition, we expanded our orchard in 2013 and this year will increase our other fruit crops, adding more gooseberries, three types of currents, two more types of raspberries, figs and pawpaw trees. Keegan is expanding our growing area to include a market garden in Mason County. With these additions we hope to be able to offer more options to our friends and neighbors.
