More about Two Boots Pizza

Having obsessively sampled pizza from New Haven to Naples, Istanbul to Illinois, Detroit to Dubai, Anaheim to Amalfi and back again, local resident and Two Boots Connecticut Principal Ed Rosenthal certainly knows his way around a pie. A 36-year restaurant business veteran, and Founder and CEO at consulting powerhouse Saybrook Hospitality Advisors, Rosenthal was looking for restaurant space of his own near his home when he met Two Boots Founder Phil Hartman, and Two Boots Connecticut was born.

Partnering with the Jonathan Rose and Malkin Companies, the new pizza partners chose the LEED-Certified Metro Green Development as their first Connecticut site. Two Boots Stamford sits proudly just one block from the Stamford Amtrak Metro-North Train Station, right between there and Harbor Point, a mixed use waterfront development along the Long Island Sound, consisting of thousands of new apartments, office space, several marinas, and a waterfront boardwalk and public park. The newly revitalized South End neighborhood is also home to many other new restaurants and retailers including Fairway Market, Dinosaur BBQ, Exhale Spa, and Design Within Reach.
A design collaboration between Rosenthal and Hartman, the spacious new pizzeria has floor to ceiling windows, retro, art-deco custom neon signage, polished concrete floors, gleaming subway tile with glass accents, as well as many Two Boots signature design elements, such as our custom art-deco collage counters and table tops, vintage nail head club chairs and stools, hand-done mosaic tile installations, custom built reclaimed leather booths, and New Orleans folk-art.

In keeping with the Two Boots tradition of forging store associations with community non-profit organizations, Two Boots Stamford has also partnered with Child Guidance Center, a vital community service provider of mental health crisis counseling for local children in need, where Rosenthal has served as a member of its Board of Directors for more than eight years.

Two Boots Stamford's Home Pie is the Cone Head, named after local Stamford resident and MLB All-Star Pitcher, David Cone. As a former pitcher for both the Mets and the Yankees, Cone was the perfect namesake for this special, half and half pie. The Yankees’ side features scratch made marinara, sweet Italian and andouille sausage, mozzarella, chopped scallion, and ricotta “Pinstripes”, while the Mets’ side is a white pie with tasso and capicola hams, ricotta, mozzarella, scallion and “Amazin’” Red Pepper Pesto.

Hartman and Rosenthal, both lifelong fans of the Mets and the Yankees respectively, might be on opposing sides during the Subway Series, but they are hopeful that the Cone Head can bring Stamford fans of both teams together to enjoy some of America’s other favorite pastimes… home to a carefully curated selection of pizza-friendly wines and craft beers, seating for more than 30 inside and a beautiful new outdoor dining area to seat another 20 soon to come, Stamford's beer, wine, and pizza (and baseball!) lovers now have a Two Boots to call their own!
