U-Pick Heavenly Blueberries at Far Reach Ranch

Nestled in the heart of Central Florida is our family owned and operated blueberry farm. The blueberry season here in Central Florida runs from April through May.

Far Reach Ranch was established in 1947 by Edwin Budge Mead on the south side of Lake Dora in Lake County. The original ranch had cattle and later orange groves. After many years of hard freezes and new generations of family involved in the farm, Far Reach Ranch was moved to another family owned property nearby. The family decided to look for another means to sustain the farm and in 1994, seven and a half acres of blueberries were planted. Our first harvest was the following year.

The blueberries were picked by hand by family members and friends. Since then we have continued to plant more acres of blueberries and presently have about 43 acres with another 12 acres to be planted in the near future. In 2010 a field-cooler was built to bring the field heat off of the blueberries as quickly as possible. In 2011 a new packing facility was built and the Heavenly Blueberries label was created. Its been over 20 years and we continue to grow, harvest and handpick the largest,juiciest and sweetest "Heavenly Blueberries" in Central Florida.
