Looking Back on 2015:
• The Trauma Center treated approximately 12,600 patients and had about 2,800 admissions.
• 19% of Trauma admissions were transferred from other facilities.
• 72% of Trauma patients were male and 28% were female.
• 25% of admissions were related to motor vehicle crashes, 20% were falls, 17% were penetrating injuries, 11% were motorcycle collisions, 8% were pedestrians and 19% were “other.”

The UMC Trauma Center is Nevada's ONLY level I Trauma Center and ONLY Pediatric level II Trauma Center and ONLY Burn Center. The Trauma Center's highly specialized medical personnel and dedicated resources are focused on injured patients receiving life-saving trauma care that meets or exceeds the standards found at top-rated trauma centers across the United States.

Offering the highest level of trauma care in the state of Nevada, UMC is a core component of Nevada's emergency medical system. The level of care for injured patients is continuously pursued through clinical care services, active research and education, and prevention programs. The facility and its staff members provide 24-hour care, standing by to receive, stabilize, and treat those whose lives are threatened by multi-system, brain and orthopaedic injuries, and those at risk for multiple system organ failure.

The Trauma Center serves the 2 million residents of Clark County and 32 million visitors per year. Its service area consists of 10,000 square miles including Southern Nevada and parts of California, Utah and Arizona.
