Uncommon Design

My name is Rebecca and I've been working as a decorator "officially" for about 3 years now. I grew up in sales as my parents own a local flooring store; for about as long as I was able I loved to listen to my Dad talk to customers and help them find their perfect floor. I would walk around the showroom and imagine which floors I would put in my dream house and find the right rug to go in my imaginary living room. I started sketching and painting at around 13 and got heavily into the fine arts. I was always too self-conscious to want to show off my work to anyone but my mother. In high school I took art classes and learned about all the different kinds of art: graphic design, theatre, etc. I wanted to do it all! I started working for my parents officially at 19 as a part time sales associate. I quickly discovered how much fun it was to really help people redesign their homes. One of my favorite things was to design backsplashes for customers. I soon started working at a granite store part-time as well and really expanded on that passion. Now I work at both places and figured out my niche. I love nothing more than to hear the ideas someone has about the house their building or redecorating and help their vision come to life. I want to help my client's love their home. It can get expensive to decorate your house and I believe in doing it right the first time. It's hard to be sure about your choices both in the aesthetic side and the technical side. I hope to help bear the weight and let you enjoy the process, confident that and the end you will have your ideal space.
