Uncovered Artistry

Uncovered Artistry is a non-profit organisation, based in Glasgow, that celebrates the creativity of survivors of domestic and sexual abuse. We are founded on the belief that creativity and entrepreneurship can be a healing and empowering processes.

Uncovered Artistry was inspired by a US charity, started by twin sisters Angie and Sarah Spoto in 2010. The charity functioned as a social enterprise that sold the jewellery of domestic and sexual abuse survivors, promoted awareness of abuse, and hosted community events.

In 2016, Uncovered Artistry was born in Scotland with the ambition to bring the same passion for supporting the creativity of abuse survivors but with a broader focus. With a different business model and a Scottish focus, we hope to widen our participation, including survivors who may not yet realise their creative potential, by offering workshops, projects and programmes across various creative disciplines.
