About Us
Uniquelyleanna is a two person, husband and wife team located in scenic Southern Indiana. Officially started in October 2013, it was an experiment that has gone quite well!
We won’t bore you with the long story, unless you really want to read it below. In summary, Leanna is allergic to over 50,000 products, so if there is one thing we understand, it’s allergies! As a result of our journey to better health, we try to lend a bit of our more naturalistic lifestyle to our business in a few ways.
One way is our focus on secondhand, handmade, and vintage items. Some vintage and secondhand items we source were otherwise destined for the landfill! Most items, though, are sourced from thrift stores that support charities we love or from friends and family members. Handmade items are either made by us, friends, family, or other small businesses we have worked with for years and absolutely adore.
Another reflection of ourselves is our pictures! We love nature and being outside and hope to bring a touch of our awe-inspiring surroundings to the pictures on our website so that you too can feel a bit more in tune with nature after a long day at work.
We also try to utilize vintage or secondhand ribbon, tissue paper, and wrapping paper. Not only is this more gentle on the earth, we just plain think it’s cool.
Lastly, when possible we try to utilize earth friendly materials. Often our boxes or packaging filler are from friends, family, or businesses that otherwise would have trashed it.
While Mr. Uniquelyleanna prefers to be rather enigmatic, we are probably some of the most “real” and transparent people you will come in contact with. Our business is still very much a baby, but it is only with the support of customers such as you that we are able to do what we do!
One of our favorite things to do is to search- and find- specific items upon request and within a client’s budget. Call us pickers, personal vintage shoppers, finders, or junkers. Whatever you choose, just know that if you ask, we will do whatever we can to ensure that you are not just happy, but that you are thrilled!
We aren't rich. We don't expect everyone we work with to be rich either. While we do take the time to do our due diligence as to the true market value of our products, we strongly believe that a love for vintage items shouldn't break the bank. In a nutshell, we think that what you love should be affordable!
In our spare time (ha!) we enjoy vegging out and watching The Big Bang Theory and reruns of Matlock, growing food, telling the chickens to stop pecking at us, and ensuring our rescued cats know how dearly they are loved.


The Longer Story
After fighting for disability due to fibromyalgia, a severe latex allergy, and numerous other health problems for two years, Leanna had yet another physical mystery pop up- she started dropping everything and losing feeling in her arms!
Still officially undiagnosed as to the cause, she spent her time watching informational YouTube videos and scouring the web for information regarding natural treatment options. A friend offered some colloidal silver to help with some relatively random issue, and something incredible happened- her arms started healing!
Armed with hours upon hours of research as to natural healing and selling online (specifically eBay and Amazon), she and Mr. Uniquelyleanna decided it was time to at least try to take control. (Latex allergy, while widely known to exist, is not as well understood as many would think. The fight for disability was literally killing her.)
With a very modest investment, latex-free shipping supplies were purchased along with thrift store inventory based on BOLO (Be On the Look Out) lists. The resulting income allowed for gradual dietary change and a year later, Leanna takes just one prescription medication daily- down from over 20!
Mr. Uniquelyleanna joined the business in July 2014. While it was a move that was planned, it was planned to happen much, much later!
Unable to enter most stores, Leanna wears a fabulous pink mask everywhere she goes, along with bright blue nitrile gloves. As a result, Mr. Uniquelyleanna handles almost all local deliveries. One of the places she can go, though, is her favorite- thrift stores!
Undiagnosed with the latex allergy for years, she did not learn the real truth about latex allergy until it was too late. Fortunately she found an online latex allergy support group that literally saved her life multiple times, and continues to do so. As a result of the help she has received, she has a strong desire to help anyone else fighting a latex allergy- and to prevent others from ending up with her level of sensitivity!

The journey has been long and the fight simply to survive at times has been unreal. Through the kindness and loving hearts of others, this dynamic duo made it through four unplanned moves in a year and a half (two due to cigarette smoke entering their residence, one due to mold illness) and are finally in a situation where the air is clean and there is ample room to grow organic, non-GMO food!
