United New Bedford

United New Bedford was founded in 2014 by Edwin Cartagena & his wife Luz Cartagena. Both coming from very broken childhoods, a troubled past, and overcoming adversity including deadly lifestyles to be transformed by the love of Jesus Christ to form a local Registered Non-Profit & Charity to fill the void within the hopeless, homeless, hungry, burdened, addicted, and needy. Both along with their 3 children have dedicated their lives to serve the diverse community where they call home New Bedford, MA. Obediently answering the call placed on their lives stirred up by the needs and burdens of our community. Since then United New Bedford has grown into a coalition formed of community volunteers, local organizations, businesses, and churches together believing in bringing people together to be the difference. Here at United New Bedford we firmly believe together we have the power to not only build up our city one block at a time but produce lasting positive changes that will ultimately save lives.
