More about Unity Point

So what do our Core Values, "Christ. Community. Connections" really mean?

CHRIST: When we lead people to Christ, we lead them to eternal life. Nothing that we can give others in this life is more important than sharing who Jesus Christ is. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life." -- John 3:16. "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." -- Romans 5:8

COMMUNITY: Christ calls us to move beyond just having salvation through Him, and even beyond only sharing the Gospel. Christ calls us to action in our community! Jesus once used the illustration of being in prison, and someone visiting Him. And being hungry, and someone feeding Him. And being thirsty, and someone giving Him drink. The people didn't understand...for they couldn't remember ever seeing Christ in these situations. His response was astounding: "When you did this unto one of the least of these, it was as if you did it to Me", (Matt 25:40). We are called to identify and help meet the needs of our community, as if we were meeting the needs of Christ Himself.

CONNECTION: This journey that we are on as believers must be done together...in a spirit of unity and camaraderie. It is only through one-on-one connections that we can have mutual accountability, encouragement, support and assistance along the way. It is good and pleasant for believers to dwell together in unity (Psalm 133:1). James 5:16 shows us that connection leads to not only accountability, but supportive prayer and even healing in our lives.

These three Core Values are the foundation of Unity Point. They are the filter through which we evaluate ourselves, our actions, and future ministry opportunities. And most of all...we believe they point us in the direction that allows us to bring honor and glory to God in all we do.
