The University of Memphis, Department of Computer Science, provides quality programs at all levels of study, and its faculty and students seek to excel in research, scholarship, and applications in fields where computation is of significant importance.

We prepare students who can make a difference in a rapidly changing world. In addition to traditional bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees in computer science, we offer an interdisciplinary degree in Bioinformatics (through the College of Arts and Sciences) and a Graduate Certificate in Information Assurance. Our programs build on solid foundations and on laboratory experiences to provide our graduates with a stimulating combination of knowledge and effective computing skills that enable them to become effective problem solvers. Our faculty members are dedicated teachers actively involved in advancing the state-of-the-art in various exciting fields.

The Department of Computer Science offers degrees ranging from B.S. to Ph.D., in addition to several interdisciplinary programs of study.
