University of New Mexico Hospitals (UNMH) is comprised of five hospitals and 20+ offsite clinics. It is a Level 1 Trauma center, teaching hospital and public hospital.
Providing more than $135M of uncompensated care per year, this "safety net"
county hospital provides more than 93,309 emergency visits, 491,739 outpatient visits, 18,016 surgeries, and 7,175 trauma cases per year.
The adult hospital at UNMH has provided care to the residents of Bernalillo County for nearly 60 years. Being the state’s only Level 1 Trauma Center, UNMH sees the sickest of the sick and the most injured from around the state and surrounding states.
Physicians who practice at UNMH are also faculty (professors) at the UNM School of Medicine. They are responsible for both teaching new healthcare professionals and practicing high-quality care.
Through UNMH, many offsite family clinics provide comprehensive care to county residents, and offsite clinics for diabetes, gastroenterology, senior health, allergy, pain, sleep issues, dermatology and more provide specialty services.
