UPenn-University Assisted Physical Activity

• Goal: lay the foundation for a University-Assisted Physical Activity Program.
• Who: student-led leadership component with assistance from Playworks staff and Netter personnel, namely Paulette Branson.
• What: increase opportunities for play and physical activity.
• Where: West Philadelphia public schools, recess or in physical education classes.
• When: organization to launch Fall 2016 with recruitment and planning to finish before the conclusion of the Spring 2016 semester.
• Why: play enhances a child’s development and physical activity has numerous health and school-wide benefits. There is currently an inadequacy of Penn volunteers to support physical activity at schools in West Philadelphia.
