Upper Makefield Fire Company is located in the Lower End of Bucks County, at the most eastern point, right on the Delaware River. The township is bordered by Buckingham & Solebury Townships to the North, Wrightstown & Newtown Townships to the West and Lower Makefield Township to the South. Our volunteers operate from two fire stations to better protect the residents within our 21.5 sq. mile first due local. (Station 71, located on Taylorsville Road and Station 81, located on Eagle Road)

Our company is the primary provider of Fire & Rescue services to the Township, responding on Automated Alarm Activations (Fire, CO, Water Flow), Structure Fires, Motor Vehicle Collisions, Auto Extrications, Domestic Rescues, Vehicle Fires, Brush Fires, Medivac Landings, Low-Angle Rescues, Trench Rescues. We also operate a Q.R.S. (Quick Response Service) with highly trained Emergency Medical Technicians to respond along side St. Mary's EMS- Medic 172. Another special service we provide is a Swift-Water Rescue Unit. With a high number of our volunteers trained to the Technician Level in Swift-Water, the company operates two rescue boats, responding on local and mutual-aid river rescue assignments. To ensure an adequate number of personnel and equipment, we have mutual-aid agreements with Newtown Fire Association (Co. 45), Yardley-Makefield Fire Company (Co. 0), Eagle Fire Company of New Hope (Co. 46), Lingohocken Fire Company (Co. 35) and Union Fire Company & Rescue Squad of Titusville, NJ (Co. 53) as well as other municipalities to respond on large scale incidents. To handle the many different types of emergencies we may face, we operate a fleet of state of the art fire-rescue apparatus which includes two Class-A Engines, one Class-A Rescue-Engine, two Tankers, one Special Operations Unit and two Marine-Rescue Boats.

The company has approximately 45 members, all of whom are 100% volunteer.

We are the youngest established Fire Company in Bucks County, UMFC has grown to be among the best trained and well equipped, and we will continue to hold this company to those standards.
