More about USS Continuum (ncc71821)

The USS Continuum prides itself on being Northwest Florida's Premier Star Trek Fan Organization. While the group had its first meeting in October 1992, it officially didn't have its launch until the following April. It was commissioned as a full-fledged meeting chapter of STARFLEET, the International Star Trek Fan Association, in the Pensacola, Florida area on December 4, 1993.

As a fan group, we participate in conventions; create and wear cosplays; build and display Star Trek replicas; watch Star Trek episodes, films, and documentaries together; and play Star Trek-themed games, among other things.

But the Continuum is *always* looking for more Star Trek fans to join us!

* It doesn't matter if you've been a fan for the past 50 years or have just finished watching your first episode or film. Or anything in between.
* It doesn't matter what your favorite series or movies are. Or if you like some but not others.
* It doesn't matter in what ways you "celebrate Trek" - by owning a uniform/costume, by playing the games, what collectibles you own, etc.
* It doesn't matter if you're a "trivia master" or not.. Can speak Klingon or not.. Whatever!

What we are looking for are "Star Trek Enthusiasts" - people ready to take their fandom to the next level through socializing with one another, by being involved in community service and other creative endeavors, and generally believing in the Star Trek philosophy of "Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations!"

While many visitors may be familiar with our Star Trek displays and crew members in Starfleet uniforms, the Continuum does far more than visit local conventions and other events. In the past nearly 25 years, we're involved in community service, helping various organizations, such as Manna Food Pantries, the Gulf Coast Kid's House, Ronald McDonald House, the American Cancer Society, the American Diabetes Association, Adopt-A-Shore, and Clean and Green (now Keep Pensacola Beautiful). We feel that it's an important part of the Continuum's calendar to participate in clean-ups, collection drives, and other fundraisers to help these important organizations.

We're also interested in using Star Trek to teach about science, technology, and philosophy.

All events we post on this Facebook page are free and open to the public (unless otherwise specified). No one is ever under any obligation to officially join us as a paid member or as a paid member of STARFLEET. Official members are allowed to participate with the Continuum on a much deeper level, including being able to hold positions and rank and being allowed to make important decisions regarding the organization. For more information, check out usscontinuum.com and sfi.org.

All funds collected by the USS Continuum (including membership dues) are used by the organization for handling our administrative costs, building and maintaining ship displays, and donations to charitable organizations, not for personal gain.
