Utopia (Florida)

Utopia was a census-designated place (CDP) in Broward County, Florida, in the United States. As of the 2000 census, the CDP population was 714. The area is now part of a West Park neighborhood.GeographyUtopia is located at . The population density was 889.3/km² (2,326.9/mi²). There were 279 housing units at an average density of 347.5/km² (909.2/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 21.57% White (11.9% were Non-Hispanic White,) 65.97% African American, 0.28% Native American, 0.56% Asian, 9.38% from other races, and 2.24% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 22.83% of the population.There were 262 households out of which 37.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 30.9% were married couples living together, 28.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 33.2% were non-families. 27.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 5.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.73 and the average family size was 3.32.
