Vandemere is a town in Pamlico County, North Carolina, United States. As of the 2010 census, the town population was 254. The racial makeup of the town was 46.37% White, 52.94% African American, 0.35% Native American, and 0.35% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.08% of the population.There were 123 households out of which 21.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 41.5% were married couples living together, 17.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 35.8% were non-families. 35.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 14.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.35 and the average family size was 3.05.
