Vision: Love God. Love People.

After being called to ministry in 1994 and returning from seminary in 2000, God began preparing Senior Pastor Reggie Smith to start a Christ-centered church where people felt welcomed, encouraged, and loved. He was blessed to have the opportunity to learn and grow as a member of the staff at Marathon Church where he developed as a speaker and as a leader.

With the support of the Marathon family, the Marathon Church Greenville campus was launched in 2006 on Rutherford Road in Greenville, SC. and had an immediate impact. God blessed and grew the ministry of the Greenville campus and in 2010 provided the opportunity to move to our current location that could accommodate more people.

In October of 2011 Pastor Reggie Smith was once again called to action with a new vision for the Greenville campus and out of this vision the name Velocity Church emerged. The vision, “Love God, Love People,” provides an atmosphere of movement and direction at Velocity Church. God has continued to bless and provide opportunities for this church to impact the people of Greenville, and we are excited to see what He will do with us in the future.
