Community Service - assisting others in the community.
- Visits to nursing homes/hospitals/in home visits
- Donations to cancer programs and fundraisers
- Birthday month visits to Grand Rapids VA home to our adopted floor
- Donations of wheel chairs, walkers, canes, crutches, etc., to disabled Veterans
- Safety programs - install smoke detectors for elderly and disabled
- Community awareness
- Relief program to veterans in need
- Poppy sales/program to help our hospitalized veterans
- Voice of Democracy program

- Christmas parties for local elementary school classes
- School visits or doing interviews with students
- Nursing home flag presentations and visits
- Blood drives
- Participate in cancer walks/programs
- Safety - fire, bike or driving
- Old flag disposal receptacle at post
- Holiday festivities
- Military rites for funerals
- Bell ringing for Salvation Army during Christmas season
- Christmas baskets and toys for needy families
- Visits from the Grand Rapids VA Home
- Christmas bazaar/hot dinners
- Community Awareness Day

VOICE OF DEMOCRACY PROGRAM

Voice of Democracy scholarship program is designed to give high school students the opportunity to voice their opinions on their responsibility to our country. The program is open to tenth, eleventh and twelfth grade students; they must have a US Citizenship. Prizes are awarded.

We as Veterans should always be supportive to the young people in their quest in understanding of why they have the freedoms they do in this beautiful country of ours.
