Village of Brookfield Events

One function of the Brookfield Recreation Department is to organize community events for the residents of Brookfield. Annual events that we host include Battle of the Bands, Summer Concert Series, Outdoor Movie Nights, Independence Day Celebration (parade and village picnic), and the Holiday Celebration; other events change throughout the year and the details are available on this page. Many of our events are free of charge and all are open to Brookfield residents and non-residents alike.
A lot of work goes into creating an event and we accomplish it alone – we are aided in planning and carrying out all of these great events by the members of Brookfield’s Special Events Commission. This group of seven volunteers, appointed by the Village Board, meets the first Tuesday of every month at 7 pm in the courtroom at the Brookfield Municipal Building. Meetings are open to the public; if you have ideas or suggestions, are interested in volunteering to work on an event, or are just curious about how the magic happens, we encourage you to drop in at one of our regular meetings.
