The Village of Surfside Beach was est. 1821 as Velasco changing names several times through the years to later becoming the Village of Surfside Beach. Our town has a long and proud history and continues to be in a constant state of growth. Our citizens are proud of being “locals” and love the place they call home.

The Surfside Beach Police Department has been through many changes over years, from its roots as a Marshal Office to now. One thing has remained the same, the departments commitment to the community and the visitors who migrate here every year.

Our mission for this page is to give our locals, along with our guest, the ability to be informed. Rather it is during their day to day lives for those who are here year around, or our seasonal guest who plan to visit us. This page will be updating with news and events along with local laws, rules, and customs.
