Vicksburg Warren School District's Academy of Innovation is home to two Jr High programs.

STEM ACADEMY
STEM Academy is an accelerated program of study for junior high (grades 7 and 8) students in the Vicksburg Warren School District. It provides project based learning opportunities for those students who exhibit exceptional abilities in academics. Students will have the opportunity to participate in learning processes that incorporate thinking, exploration, and projects while integrating college and career state standards in a STEM based environment.
STEM Academy is a combination of individualized instruction and cooperative learning experiences designed to accommodate various learning styles. This dynamic blend of kinesthetic, visual, and auditory instructional methods aid student development pertaining to communication skills, building teamwork and leadership skills, refining workplace-readiness skills, and participating in relevant career-learning activities. Engaging, hands-on classroom environments support students as they complete student-directed learning units, self-directed lessons, and small-group collaborative activities.
STEM Academy students are paired with a variety of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) classroom solutions that are equally robust and engaging. The academy is designed to supplement science, technology, engineering, and math concepts through the use of small-group investigation and experimentation. This blended element enables teachers to provide content that relates mutually with diverse pedagogy and methodology.

STAR ACADEMY
Star academy provides an accelerated program of core instruction for over age students which are at high risk of dropping out of school. Star academy allows a student to earn up to two years of credit in a single year while providing an opportunity to rejoin peers and get back on track to graduate high school. This award-winning program effectively engages students through a rigorous progression of technology driven instruction that incorporates hands-on learning, individualized instruction, cooperative learning, team-based instruction, and real-world career connections. Students achieve academic success, develop leadership and communication skills, and ultimately experience a positive change in attitude toward themselves and their future.
The Star academy curriculum is standards based and focused on the academic core. The curriculum is tailored to a program goal such as grade acceleration, end-of-course preparation, or credit recovery. The program offers up to eight core content courses: two each in mathematics, science, English/language arts, and social studies.
