Wake Internal Medicine Consultants, Inc.

Wake Internal Medicine Consultants, Inc. (WIMC) is a medical corporation that grew out of the Internal Medicine practice of Dr. Thomas Umphlet. The practice was incorporated in 1981 and moved into the 3100 Blue Ridge Road building (our current location). After months of planning, the practice expanded to its new North Raleigh satellite location in March 2008.

Currently, WIMC consists of 30 providers. WIMC offers general medical care to adults, and now children, with sub-specialty care in:

Cardiology
Gastroenterology
Geriatrics
Gynecology
Pulmonology
Sleep Medicine
Pediatrics

Located at both of our locations, our affiliated Rx Urgent Care provides extended coverage for the practice 7 days a week. We also work closely with another affiliate of ours, Wake Research Associates, which is an independent multi-center clinical research site.
