If you want something different in a music school you have found it.
We specialize in acoustic instrument instruction. Private instruction, and group jam classes.

Banjo; 5 string picking. Or Frailing, Clawhammer, and Dropthumb.
Beginning Fiddle,
Professional, advanced Band Class.
Informal singing instruction/coaching with your instrument is included if you choose.

TYPES OF MUSIC TAUGHT: Bluegrass, Country, Classical, Classic Rock, Gospel, Folk, Blues....what ever music you want to pick, strum or sing. Bring your desire for music. Your musical goals will become our goals. Kim will turn you into what ever level of musician/singer you want to get to whether you want to just pick or sing on your front porch, learn to jam, play in church or play the stage at the Grand Old Opry....lets do it!

Walls Of Time is special because every student gets music/tab written out for them based on their level of musical ability. We use 'easy read tab' developed by Kim Terpening. Focusing on the beat and written to suit the individual player/singer. Formal music reading and music theory is taught based on individual student requests.

Private lessons are offered once a week for 45 minutes based on your schedule.
Jam class is also offered for free every Thursday from 4:00pm to 6:30 pm In Roanoke Rapids NC. This is included in your monthly/weekly lesson cost.
The last full week of each month is Jam Week in Roanoke Rapids. We jam every day from 4:00pm to 6:30. If a student is not ready to jam yet, this week is optional until they feel ready to participate. Private lessons for new students can be scheduled during this week but usually no private lessons are scheduled for more advanced players.

Lessons are for any age. Children under the age of 6 or 7 should be accompanied by an adult so the adult can help them during the week for practice. Children under the age of 12 are given a practice check off sheet. Every time they practice 15 minutes they can put a check on their calendar. Four checks will give the student a choice of a prize from Ms Kim's “Crazy Prize Box” ! No limit on how many checks a child can accumulate per week.

Walls Of Time Acoustic Music School is named after a beautiful love song written by Bill Monroe and Peter Rowan.
We here at the Walls Of Time, among other skills, focus heavily on timing.... so appropriately named.
