More about Warbird CrossFit

I am interested in doing CrossFit but how do I get started at Warbird CrossFit?

Join our On-Ramp Program! It is a beginner CrossFit program designed to teach you everything you need to know about CrossFit, the lingo, the rules, and how to perform the fundamental movements correctly. This class runs for 4 weeks, consisting of 8 workout sessions, and one end-of-course evaluation that you must pass in order to attend the open classes.

** On-Ramp Fees: All classes are free!

If you’ve already been through an On-ramp at a previous Box or have been doing CrossFit for a while and think you’ve got what it takes to skip the On-Ramp Program, sign up for the Open class then you will required to take a 9 movement test out at the beginning of your first class to show competency and safety of these movements prior to taking the class.

What you will need:

Come with an open mind and a willingness to learn! You are going to learn a lot from our amazing and very qualified coaches!

Get a log book – a CrossFitter’s must have – write down what you learn, what you did, how fast you did it, and at what weight or intensity!

Water Bottle – it is a long way to the water fountain – part of your WOD’s will be for time – you do not want to have to run over to the water fountain.

Shoes – You will develop a preference for a light weight no cushion shoe over time. You can decide for yourself later what works best for you. There are Olympic lifting shoes, CrossFit nano’s, Inov-8’s, barefoot shoes, etc.

Athletic loose fitting clothing – you will sweat, ALOT!

What you will learn from us:

We have developed a well organized and planned out program for teaching you the basics of each fundamental movement necessary for CrossFit.

We are known to start on time and finish on time (We like the idea of knowing you know the schedule and you can count on it). Due to the amount of skill work we do and the numbers of On Rampers, there will be times where your static stretching cool down will be on your own time. Don’t forget to stretch or foam roll after every class. Mobility is super important to avoiding injury and keeping your body in tip top shape. CrossFit is hard, treat your body right.

You will get a description of the day’s warm-up, skill(s) to be learned, WOD, and static stretching cool down. You will then receive instruction on each of these to include demonstrations, Movement Progressions, and Cues for correcting your form.

We will work on your Form, Consistency of that form, and then and ONLY then add intensity.

These skills are the building blocks you need to be able to do CrossFit effectively and efficiently. You must attend each class in order to build those blocks or your base will be weak – make each class! We will allow no more than two make up days during the on-ramp, and it will be your responsibility to work with the coaches on the make-up times, not the coaches responsibility. If you miss more than two days you will be cycled back onto the waiting list to go through the On Ramp again.

If you have prior CrossFit experience, we do offer a test-out option to bypass the on-ramp program. You will be required to perform the test out at the beginning of your first class. Speak with one of our coaches for more information or e-mail us at warbirdcf@outlook.com.

**If you cancel less than 24 hours or no show more than twice per the classes you signed up for, you will either be cycled through to the next OnRamp if spots are available or you will be taken off the class list. All athletes are required to sign a waiver/agreement prior to participating in our program.
