More about Warren Tech

Warren Tech has two premier Career and Technical Education centers for Jefferson County Public Schools. We also serve Platte Canyon, Gilpin, Clear Creek, and Denver students. We are widely recognized as an educational and technological leader, with students who competitively meet the challenges of the global community. We offer students career-focused learning, credit toward high school graduation, high school academic credit, community college credit, industry certification, internships, apprenticeships, and on-the-job experience. Our students participate and compete in state and nationally-recognized, career-focused student organizations.

One hallmark of our success is the number of community college credits awarded to our students each year. In 2016-2017, our students earned over 13,000 Red Rocks Community College credits. All of our programs offer district approved academic credits in 11th or 12th grade math, science, and English. AP coursework is offered by some programs. In addition to preparing students for post-secondary education, we also partner with industry, providing a variety of industry and career certifications at state, national, and international levels. These specialized certifications include National Automotive Technicians Educational Foundation (NATEF), Certified Nursing Assistant, Oracle Academy, and CompTIA, to name just a few. Many of our programs prepare students for career licensure (Cosmetology) and for entry-level professional positions (Dental Assisting, for example). As a result of their coursework and internships, many of our students are employed either during their high school career or post-graduation in their program field. Partnerships with industry include and extend beyond the classroom.

We are currently partnering with NASA, and in March 2015, we had a student designed extreme science project go the International Space Station. It is through this partnership that students are designing and building prototype biological experiments and transport boxes for the International Space Station. Several of our programs also partner with Colorado School of Mines. These partnerships have sparked support for ongoing expansion of STEM opportunities for students as we partner with other high schools in Jeffco. Additionally, all of our programs have Career and Technical advisory boards made up of industry experts and community members. Student enrollment and attendance are high, as is student engagement, evidenced in survey and anecdotal data. As a result, in 2009, as student enrollment increased, we opened our second campus in Arvada, serving primarily students in our north area and offering several new programs. As our data show, our positive trends include high attendance and completer rates, high percentage of students earning C grades or above, and a high percentage of students eligible for community college credits.
