Washington County Home

We have been providing a safe, clean, comfortable home for Washington County residents since 1840. We believe in the philosophy of "neighbor helping neighbor", reaching out to our community, which is the heart of our home. The present 90 bed facility was built in 1976. An Administrator directs the home while reporting to the County Commissioners. Funding is provided by the county levy, resident's income, and farm income. It is the only county home in Ohio that has an operating farm. 270 acres provides room for the beautiful Georgian style home, farm, apple orchard, ponds, and walking trails, as well as other county agencies. Nurses are on staff 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. All meals, housekeeping, laundry, beautician/barber services, activities and crafts are included in the daily rate, which is based on one's ability to pay.
