Washington Festivals and Events Association

Washington Festivals & Events Association(WFEA) is a nonprofit tax-exempt 501(c)6 Washington State corporation dedicated to promoting the common business interests of the festivals and events industry in Washington State and to assist the members in the improvement of their business condition by providing opportunities for professional education, and leadership development, for the festivals & events industry. Programs include the annual Northwest Festivals & Events Conference, regional seminars, networking, and publications such as the festival magazine. 60,000 copies of the calendar magazine are distributed throughout the state of Washington at no cost to ensure visitors and communities may share, celebrate, and experience the heritage and special character of the community in which they live or visit.
Festivals and events play a vital role in the development of tourism and economic opportunities. It is the role of WFEA to improve the understanding, recognition and appreciation of festivals and events in society, as people come together to share and celebrate their arts, heritage or special characteristics.
Event producers, chambers of commerce, visitor and convention bureaus, parks departments, government agencies, fairs, vendors, suppliers, consultants are only a few of the diverse membership the organization serves.
Washington's festivals and special events industry makes a valuable contribution, both economically and culturally to the people of the Evergreen State. The community events held throughout the year generate millions of dollars of economic impact and attract millions of visitors.

The organizers and volunteers who work hard to make these events successful face incredible challenges. These challenges include moving thousands of people through a few square acres of space; planning around the Northwest's unpredictable weather; or working with city, county, state and other governing bodies to bring about a great celebration of Washington.
