The Waverly Volunteer Fire Department proudly serves the City of Waverly along with Lafayette, Warren and Washington townships. The Department moved into its new facility in May of 2007 which was designed to function as the City’s main fire station, an Emergency Operation Center and a public emergency shelter.
The Department consists of 38 volunteer members with 8 elected officers. 90% of the membership is currently nationally certified at the Firefighter I and Hazardous Materials Operations level or higher.
The Department maintains a modern fleet of 10 apparatus, which includes: (3) Pumpers, (1) Heavy Rescue Apparatus, (1) 100’ Aerial, (1) 4x4 Pick-up, and (2) Water Tankers.
The Department responds to an average of 116 calls per year providing fire protection for a community of 10,000 as well as approximately 80 square miles of rural district.
