The Wayne County Conservation District was organized in 1944 with the primary objective of solving soil and water conservation problems. Since 1944, the District has provided conservation assistance-upon request-to land users in the planning and installation of conservation measures. The district consists of; all of Wayne County-including incorporated towns and public owned land.
The WCCD Board of Supervisors and office staff work closely with agencies and governmental units such as; USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, USDA Farm Service Agency, Wayne County Extension Service, Wayne County Fiscal Court, Meadow Creek Watershed and local school systems.
