Wayne Metropolitan Community Action Agency

Since 1994, the agency has been accomplishing this mission through the provision of services that address homelessness, poverty, lack of educational opportunities, and declining neighborhoods. Wayne Metro offers more than 50 programs designed to increase the self-sufficiency of low-income individuals, families, and youth.

In May 2013, Wayne Metro was named the interim Community Action Agency for the City of Detroit. Wayne Metro is proud to be serving low-income individuals throughout Wayne County.

Wayne Metro's client-centered service model is designed with each person's unique needs and challenges in mind. Emergency services are often the first point of contact with individuals. Once we help resolve that initial crisis, Wayne Metro staff can help clients navigate through a progressive system of programs and create a personalized action plan with goals and milestones for long-term success and self-sufficiency.
